I sent her the chiralbalance site yesterday. I found it in one of the older posts here so went looking into it. Thanks. She's definitely not trying to get pregnant but it sounded very interesting. She's got a degree to finish and another one after that. She doesn't have kidney disease. Her remaining kidney is malformed and she has remaining megaureter. Lots of infections but despite malformation, kidney function is quite good. She requires more surgery on that remaining urinary system before she can even contemplate getting pregnant, if she can.

I'll defiinitely talk to her about the acidosis issues. Considering how little she's been eating lately, it is a concern. Surprises me how little specialists tell their patients. Her endocrinologist basically did all the tests and next visit told her what was going on. Asked her a lot of family history afaik. Told her some very scary things and then told her to take this, take that, and increase her exercize. That was it. As she says, she would need to find a man who can cook before she gets to having babies. LOL She does not like to cook.

She's just finishing up exams and has mid-semester break coming up so I'll get to see her and we'll be able to get a lot of these issues sorted out. Difficult to do it via email and phone really. Ideally she would be here full-time and I would have no difficulty feeding her correctly but alas that's not possible.

Meanwhile..... I've found a couple of really good recipe books which have illustrations (which will help her I'm sure lol) and that might help her know how to put together some simple yet tasty and filling meals leaving out all the foods she can't go near. That's her difficulty.
