Can anyone tell me the difference between insulin dependence to insulin resistance & what is any are the two treated differently. My mother has become a type 2 diabetic & my sister is pre diabetic insulin resistant.

Insulin dependent T2 means your pancreas probably still produces insulin, it's not enough. So you inject it. Resistant means you aren't using what you do produce. It's not getting into the cells, so you use an oral med to help things along. I feel there is no such thing as "pre" diabetes. It's like being pregnant. You are, or not.

Look for a doctor thst does life style medicine by that I mean one who uses a nutritional counslor diet and medical food. I go to a doctor thst does that and it works. If you want I will ask him I if he knows doc I uour area
