Default Diabetes diagnoses

I'm not new to the forums, I'm from the TOS and RSD forum. In the past year I have been diagnoses with Metabolic Syndrome and now Diabetes. I don't even know where to start with this. I do see my PCP Friday. This has been diagnosed for a little bit but it's gotten worse due to meds not working. I am on Metformin, Reglan, Amitiza, and Misoprostol. Some foods that diabetics can eat, I can't eat due to other problems so I am trying to figure all of this out and not getting anywhere.

Any ideals?

Getting rid of sugar and fructose and most starchy carbs is the first thing to do.

It all depends on your A1C and your fasting morning sugars.
Getting a glucometer and doing several readings during the day may help you target your problem areas and then you can taylor your diet more successfully.

Some people when fasting, get higher sugars, so beware of that.
It has to do with increased liver production of glucose during fasting.

The Zone diet is a good plan to follow. Many people with type II diabetes find it useful. It basically balances carbs with protein, so that you never get high insulin levels.

Default Thanks Mrs. D as always.

I see my PCP tomorrow and will see what's next for me. I will find out about the zone diet. I don't do sugar but I do know there are some carbs I need to get rid of.

I'm going shopping Monday and in the meantime I am trying to get some foods lined up that I can buy.
