Default We'd probably need the reference ranges--

--to give a more accurate interpretation--and these tests tend to be more accurate if they done over a longer period of time with insulin levels measured along with the blood glucose--but if standard reference ranges are being employed, my guess is that you are showing at least an impaired glucose tolerance, and at least some would interpret the figures as being indicative of frank diabetes.

the reference # said it should not be above 170 at the highest point or the one hour check and not higher than 120 at the 2 hour point.I would guess that to be standard reference range.

Thank you for your reply

yup, that 200 did it. That is a genuinely poor test, as glenn said, need a longer term, and insulin draws. it could be insulin resistance, in which case you may have gone hypo at hour 4 or 5, with exagerated insulin levels.

Lightbulb

Here are some curves with description:
http://hypoglykemie.nl/gtt.htm

Yours seems like curve 2, considered mild diabetes.

I would also follow your HbA1C levels for 6months and see what they show.

People who weight ALOT, often show slightly elevated markers at 2 hrs...because of their large body size. This may not be mild diabetes for THEM, because most of the ranges are for normal people.
