Default Should I get a meter?

My A1C is very normal and my fasting glucose is 5.6-5.8mmol/L (3 tests). I have neuropathy in my hands and feet of unknown cause.

Is a glucose tolerance test going to be useful in my case? Would I be wasting my money getting a meter for home monitoring?
