Hi Razorbackfan,
I'm sorry I don't know much at all about kappa free light chains but if you can do a Google search, you might be able to find out more. I looked up a couple of links on it but the information there was pretty technical, I thought. Maybe someone else here can provide more useful information.

Good luck with the video visit. If it's Facetime, that seems fairly easy. Even I have been able to get along with it, using an older iPad2. I've glanced over the Zoom setup but not tried it. It seems to have more bells and whistles.

So far my doctors have been using phone visits. Maybe your doctor would be willing to do that if you don't feel up to whatever video arrangement is being used.

Hi Razorbackfan

Free kappa light chains can be a sign of multiple myeloma.

This information may help you with this.

Video visit went good. I am pre-diabetic and with my kappa free light chain elevated he is referring me to a hematology clinic for a bone marrow biopsy. I do have other autoimmune issues such as ITP and had a bone marrow biopsy done nearly 20 years ago. He said in rare cases it could indicate cancer, but that's the reason he wants to dig deeper into this. They will probably have some other things to test.
I will be pretty busy the next few weeks. Lots to take in for sure but it's just another piece of my puzzle.
