Hi there:
I completely agree with what you wrote. I was diagnosed type 2, 20 years ago. Never did a darn thing about my weight, I took 8 oral pills a day, and I remained morbidly obese. About 5 years or so ago, (when I was 55), I went to a nutritionist), I finally listened. I follow a very sensible eating plan. It's a no-brainer. I eat low-fat, low carb and normal protein. I don't overload my kidneys with protein. I have gone off all my oral meds. I was put on Lantus (46 units), and now I'm down to 26. I am in a diabetic protocol at Cornell Medical Center. I am now 60 and I look better than how I looked at 40. I mean, I weighed over 300 lbs. How good could I looked?? I was in big denial. The exercise is the key. I have arthritis. So I have bad days and good days. But I walk every day and I do the best I can. I must be doing something right because my hubby's eyes still light up when I walk in the room. I also laugh as much as I can. It works wonders. Take care, Melody
