Default Skin Problems & Epilepsy

Hi everyone,

Since I've been having the cp auditory & visual sz's I have started to get a really bad dermatitis on my hands.

I know I've had it before under stress so I was wondering if anyone else has skin problems with an escalation of sz's?

There is no ointment or cream or lotion that will shift this thing. I don't use soaps only soap & laurel suphate free organic cleansers & cleaners and shampoos etc. There is nothing in my home that would cause this and I've only had it 3 times now since 2003 when the sz's got bad.

I know there is a link between the central nervous system and skin reactions, and I'd be interested to hear from anyone else about their skin problems,

Thanks,
Rhiannon

Hi Rhiannon,
I've had skin problems 3 times but each time it was do to the sz. meds I was taking lamictal, tegretol, and trileptal all made me break out with a rash and my skin would itch like crazy. I had to see a dermatologist (skin specialist) who did a skin biopsy on me and found out I was allergic to all 3 of these drugs. What was wierd is I took tegretol for many yrs. with no problems and then all of the sudden the rash broke out. Take note if your skin itches, you have tiny little red bumps on your skin that looks almost like a pimple if you do you may have the same problem as I do. My dermatologist gave me steroid cream along with another type of cream that stopped the itching and rash. I was told to use on Dove soap for sensitive skin, no perfumes or anything with a strong scent and to take cool showers or baths because the hotter the water the more the rash will spread. My advice to you is to see a dermatologist and to let your neuro what's going on. Here's wishing you well and May God Bless You!

Sue
