Well, so sorry to hear of others having experienced this!! Luckily, it hasn't happened again for me. It's interesting to hear that others have had problems getting appropriate treatment and/or diagnosis, too, though. It's very real! Good luck!

Default A possible balance

Hi there, I'm an ongoing experiencer of ocular gyro crisis and I have some tips that I'm fleshing out that could help some of you who are on anti-psychotic medication (dopamine regulators/inhibitors).

The main piece of this puzzle is to do with side effects that occur when taking anti-psychotic medication. I have to challenge them and compose myself (minimalize the side effects) when these side effects (non ocular gyro crisis side effects) occur in order to, I believe, to stop ocular gyro crisis from happening.

I hope you all will benefit. I, Gabriel, take anti-psychotic medication of which is known to possibly induce ocular gyro crisis. Another side effect of this medication is very damning shaking. It starts for no reason other than when I feel partial excitement or anxiety or even just concern. If you have similar occurrences I recommend a mindful meditation session of just 5 minutes a day (sitting cross legged with eyes closed) to combat these side effects of the medication, to regain composure of your body. After doing these medication sessions you can compose yourself more and more in your daily lifestyle.

My side effect that I think causes ocular gyro crisis is akathisia, before I did these meditation sessions I (on the meds) experienced OGC three days in a row. Since doing these meditation sessions for 6 days I have had no ocular gyro crisis occurrences.

Please see my diary for any reference. Feel free to ask any questions.
