Hi Garney,
I'm so sorry you have had an increase of sz. I have both absence and cp sz. and my sz. increased greatly when I was on neurontin I was having 5 sz. or more in less than a hour. There were other times when the sz. would last 40 min. to 3 hrs. long. I found out that when I was having sz. after sz. it was considered an absence status sz. because they kept happening one right after the other. Later on I found out that neurontin was causing the status sz. so I went off the AED and I went back on Diamox and mysoline which have been the greatest help for me the past 35 yrs.
Just like you I tried lamictal and after being on the AED four days my skin began to itch and I noticed tiny red bumps on my neck, face and back that looked like tiny pimples. I found out I was allergic to the lamictal and that it caused a rash. I had to see a dermotologist and get 2 steroid creams to clear the rash up. Also I wasn't allowed to use soap, shampoo or anything with a scent because it made the rash worse. I was also told to use Dove soap for sensitive skin. In 4 months the rash cleared up thank goodness. I hope all goes well for you at the Dr. and May God Bless You!

Sue
