Default Emergency Room

Hi Folks,
Last night I ended up in the ER thanks to a Dr. not keeping up on my medical records. I received a call from a clinic last wk. requesting that I make an appt. to have a mamogram done, I made the appt. only for the clinic to refuse to do the mamogram because I was no longer seeing any Drs. in that clinic and I had a family Dr. in a different location. I requested to speak to the administrator and I told him that the clinic needs to do a better job keeping up with peoples medical records then I went into a TC sz. the first one in 34 yrs. The last time I had a TC sz. was when I first started having sz. and was on no meds.
My head got banged up really good where they did surgery and they called an ambulance and sent me to the E.R. without my permission or my husbands. Now they want me to pay all the medical bills but I refuse to since stress brought on the sz. do to the jerks messing up medical records from 2003. I'm also out of work for a few days and I may have to go back to the hospital in Rochester my epi and neurosurgeon are concerned that the flap on the RTL has become loose.
I'm sorry to carry on I just needed to vent to people who understand E. because the Drs. didn't even know what to do they had me laying flat on my stomach instead of my side and then they drugged me up good in the ER doing x-rays and a CT scan everything came back negative but my local hospital isn't very good nor are they updated in neurology.
Thanks for your time and May God Bless You!

Sue when I had a sz in NYC subway they brought me to an ER and I didn't want the tests . Than the hospital kept saying to me the only way to get well
was to have the tests. They forced the tests on me.

Make a long story short , they billed my parents and my parents refused to pay and they never bothered us. MY mom sent a letter of complaint to the adminstrator and that was the end of it.

You should do the same.........

Good Luck, (((hugs)))
Hoping your injury didn't hurt you in any way.

oh sue i am so sorry.

((((sue))))

first they trigger a GM and then they want you to pay for it? sounds like an excellent money making scheme to me.

don't pay them, tell them you are going to sue for malpractice. if they did all this stuff without you signing for it you are not liable. did you sign anything? even if you did i bet it would not be legal if you were post ictal.

there ought to be something that we could carry around refusing to go to an ER. i remember several people having this problem in the past.

just hope that this is your last ever GM. weren't you smart to leave this clinic and find a better doctor?

Hi Folks,
Thanks for your support. I've made the decision to report the clinic to the medical conduct board and today they are supposed to have a meeting but they don't want me there so my lawyer is ready to take legal action.
I just can't believe that the Drs. there didn't know what to do when I had the sz. Today my head is still bothering me a lot on the RTL where surgery was done and now things are getting blurry for me. My epi doesn't want me to work for a few days. Take care and May God Bless All of You!

Howdy Sue!

Condolances from a fellow Rochestarian!

If you go to the Strong Epilepsy Center I wouldn't
be a bit surprised if they also misplaced a few records.

I haven't seen them since they moved to Westfall Rd.
in May.

Just as an angle to work on...
Since they requested it in the firstplace,
how can they refuse to do it?

Howdy Dave,
I can't complain about Rochester not keeping my records they found my med. records from back in 1972 when I first started having sz. with a former neuro. whose now retired.
In regards as to why they wouldn't do the test at the clinic on me there reason was because my family Dr. isn't with them but yet they still called me to make an appt. I feel they were doing it just to make some money for the clinic. I'm still waiting to hear from the clinic with the administrators decision all I know was Strong was very angry with them for doing what they did. Here's wishing you well and May God Bless You!
