Ellie, I read that you toss your meds in a can with coffee grounds etc. Animals will eat it thinking it is food since they are mixed in with other food stuffs. Yikes! Poor anmals! I even cut plastic yogurt etc containers so they will not get their heads stuck in them. Yoplait cups are bad about that. Says it on label.
I was always taught to flush old meds, but they can be of any use to another, the doc's office may know of someone who needs them. The doc knows you both. Tattoo

Howdy!

I don't think the FDA will let a doctor redistribute meds that
have been accessed by anybody in the general public.

I recently got a whole month's supply of the regular Depakote by accident. The pharmacy told me to keep them, do whatever I want with them, because they are required to toss any medication that has gone out of the pharmacy if it comes back in.
I'm keeping these around as a backup for a while, since they'll do in a pinch. They'll make me queasy, but keep the szs away.

Thanks for sharing your ideas with this.

HD, You are correct legally you can not redistribute meds.
