I'm glad you are feeling better, post-op. My seizures haven't increased since menopause began. I too have heard they might even decrease in some people too. Mine haven't increased or decreased.

(I heard Elton John doesn't have epilepsy, he simply had seizures while he was getting off drugs. I went online & read that Prince outgrew his epilepsy when young. He wrote a song about his situation...I forget the name though.)

I looked for that song by Prince. It's called "The Sacrifice of Victor"

Thank you for the well wishes. I saw my GYN Oncology Surgeon yesterday and pathology came back good. No spread of cancer, no need for treatments, etc. Everything was contained in the uterus and removed at surgery. I feel very lucky. So far only one episode of night sweats and the doctor said by now I would have started with symptoms if things were going to be bad. That gives me some hope that the menopause won't be too bad. If I can make it through the next two weeks with no issues I think I will feel confident that everything will be okay. So far I have had no seizure activity and that was my biggest concern. I am just taking it one day at a time, "confidence building" and looking forward to starting work on Monday. I am able to drive now so that is great! I was getting cabin fever. I still have four more weeks of no lifting and that is the hardest part since I am stubborn and independent and don't like to ask for help. But I will get through it! Thanks again for all the advice and support. :)

Update

Just to provide an update, I am 4 weeks post op and so far no seizures and no menopause symptoms. I had one episode of night sweats the week after the surgery and that was it. I don't know whether this is the way it will be, or if I can still anticipate something. I wonder if my ovaries never really worked correctly. I had an endometrial biopsy in my early 20's that showed I did not ovulate. The biopsy was done because I stopped menstruating after coming off Tegretol, which I had been on for about 8 years. Then when my menstruation started again, it didn't stop and I became severely anemic and was put in the hospital. I wonder if all the seizure drugs since I am 5 and the epilepsy on its own caused me to be infertile. I had had my hormones checked periodically over the years and they were normal, but I have read that the best check is through a saliva test, which I never had. Who knows! I am also overweight, so maybe there is still enough estrogen in my fat cells to keep me from getting hot flashes yet. That is all! Hope everyone is doing well.
