Update- twitching is no longer unilateral. On Friday it started in my face and neck and on Saturday, my right side (mostly thumb).

I also am having trouble with if I get startled or really upset, my whole body feels like it's buzzing, like there is an electrical current running through it. Like I fell asleep during the football game and my husband shouted out because of something and I woke up startled and my whole body was just vibrating. Not to the eye, but I could feel it. Freaky.

My final labs came back and my b12/folate was fine and my heavy metal screen was negative, well....my arsenic was 6 but that was "acceptable" and is being blamed on having public water from deep wells. Guess Brita doesn't work that well on Arsenic. That or the ice tea I drink a lot (WaWa or Turkey Hill brands) doesn't filter their water or something.

I had my c-spine MRI on Thursday so I should hear something tomorrow about it and my EEG is coming up on this Wed.

Darlene
I have been seaching for answeres but have fallen short of getting them. My Daughter of eleven years old had what looked like a siezure. She was in the floor with her body drawn up and her arms were straightened out to were here hands were by here knees and here legs folded up to here chest and then staightened out. She was so tens that I could not move here arms or legs. Her mouth is open and here eyes are dialated to a piont to were you can only see white of eyes and pupils. Then she sharts to shake, but she is still stiff as a board. It takes about 1 to 2 miniutes for the fits to wear off, and then she makes sounds like she is trying to talk. and her body falls limp.

with in a few more seconds she is up and walking again. NORMAL

She says that she feels a vibration like a cell phone on vibrate start in her toes sometimes on the left and sometimes on the right and it works its way up the side of her body and that side goes numb, then it starts going down the other side of her body. What I have seen is that when it starts in her foot she panics and looses feeling in the side it startes on and her body draws up and she hits the floor. But she says she can remember everything and describes it to me after it is over, what were it started when she fell and what everyone around her was saying. She also says that she can see use but we are blurry while it is happening.

She has had three so far, two bad ones while awake and one while asleep,(that one woke her up). She has had an MRI that docs said looked good, An EEG that they said had siezure activity, and one more for a better look from a child Nuero doc, that one is schedualed for in 30 days.

My question is does anyone know of these symptoms or does any one have a clue as to what type of siezures she is haveing. I need help so I can help her...
Thanks ,Jabay

Default Toughts are with you!!

Jabay,

Hello and welcome to NeuroTalk. Happy to see you have found the site.

There are great number and caring fellow members here, just let us know how we can assist, we are a supportive and relaxing group friends. There are agreat number of things you should be doing to report your neuro when you see him. These a few to do before seeing him.

1. When see has a seizure be sure and write it down and how long it last.
2. Keep her away from flashing bright lights (like in an theater).
3. Nutra sweet causes more electrical activity in the brain and can trigger seizures.
4. Taking vitamin B12 once a day to help calm the nerves.

Again welcome, looking forward to seeing you around. Our shoulders are here for support in many ways. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Darlene

Just like you I have herinated discs L4 and L5 S1 all the tingling you feel in your legs along with the twitching you have is all related to the back problems. My husband has had to have back surgery twice for herinated discs and he has had tingling in his legs and other parts of his body.

You mentioned that you were boarder line ADD this sometimes can lead to epilepsy for some people. Also the color you see in your eye could be an aura seizure also known as a simple partial seizure. This can sometimes happen when certain colors trigger seizures and it's called "Photosensitive"
I found out that I was photosensitive a few yrs. ago when my Epileptologist
did a special e.e.g on me and flashed different color lights one at a time by doing this they found out what colors were triggering my seizures.
My advice to you is to see an Epileptologist (Dr. specializing in epilepsy) at an Epilepsy Center which are usually at university or big hospitals. Have your family Dr. refer you to one and have a e.e.g., MRI, CT scan, Spect scan, and PET scan done. Whatever you do stay away from aspartame (nutra sweet) it's been proven that nutra sweet causes more electricial activity in the brain and it can cause seizures for some people. I found that out the hard way when I used to drink diet soda and the next day I would have seizure after seizure.
If I may ask after you see the colors in your eyes do you feel confused like your not sure where you are or what happened and do you feel tired and have a headache? If you do these are all signs of how a person may feel after they have had a seizure. I've had temporal lobe seizures for 39 yrs. and I've had 2 brain surgeries to help reduce my seizures. Take note of what the weather is like and if there's a low pressure because that can sometimes trigger a seizure. I wish you the best of luck and May God Bless You! In the mean time start taking vitamin B12 1000 mcg. once a day this will help with your back and if you are having any seizures because it calms the nerves down.

Sue
I am so glad you mentioned stress, as one of the factors that can cause a seizure.

Because, Over the past couple of weeks apart from Facebook, there has been very little communication between my fiance n' I. Once I got my Facebook account(personally I feel that Facebook is a haven for predators and also causes suicide at the drop of hat because of how addicted people get to it), I thought our communication would pick up. That hasn't happened at all. My stress level is through the roof, from the lack of communication. As a result, I am having a lot of twitching on the right side.

Hi lcms0516,

I learned many yrs. ago that stress and the lack of sleep were the 2 main things that will trigger seizures for a person because stress affects the hormones in a persons body and that's what triggers the seizure.
I don't use Facebook at all instead I get into ham radio and talk to people all over the world and make a lot of friends. It's a lot of fun and you are licensed with the FCC so if you are working your employer can't stop you from talking on the radio as long as you are doing your job and not disrupting others. It's much cheaper and safer than a cell phone or using Facebook but everyone has their own opinon. Here's wishing you well and May God Bless You!
