Default sleep onset seizures?

I just had a sleep study done last night, so I will hopefully learn more about my sleep-onset problems, but am doing research anyway in the meantime....cuz that's what I do!

My seizures started out nocturnal, in the middle of the night. With added stress over the years, my head issues morphed and I started having problems at bedtime over the last year or two. Initially, my head was just more "active" or startle-able. At its worst, last Tgiving, I would start to fall asleep then startle awake gasping with my heart racing. Multiple times in a row (ie not able to fall asleep). I would also wake up like that during the same nights.

Lately, it hasn't been that extreme-just waking up with heart racing (not gasping), but seriously impacts my sleep! Or simply not being able to sleep cuz my head feels so active. So last night I had a sleep study done, with the new doc wanting to make sure it wasn't sleep apnea *causing* the seizures. It was actually a good night for the study, timed to be before my period. The night before, I'd had trouble sleeping so I knew it was "in the window". Last night, trying to go to sleep, I noticed that my eyes were actually what was bouncing around (I thought it was "thoughts"), often jerking to the right (ie behind my eyelids). Then when I did start to fall asleep, I would suddenly find my eyes to the right, and feel dizzy with my heart racing. This happened numerous times in a row, as I'd start to fall asleep, over and over. Finally I fell asleep, only to wake up who knows how much later with the same thing. Around 1:30am I couldn't sleep, so the guy told me to do something (played iphone game) for 45 min then fell into a deep sleep that I didn't rouse for anything (it happens like this, particularly if I didn't sleep well the night before, either, which I hadn't). When he woke me afterwards, I was groggy and came home and slept til 10.

Any thoughts?
