Default Odd seizure

Hi, I don't have Epilepsy, but I really have been looking for someplace to describe this type of seizure that has happened to me three times now. First let me say this may be an odd topic for this forum so if it is I'm fine looking for answers elsewhere. No problem.

I have had a passing interest in self induced trance for sometime but never really messed with it much until lately. So I decide to try it by focusing on this type of quickly flashing photographic slideshow. The photos move super fast in a flashing sort of way. I got no where with it until I added a repetitive droning type sound with it. With the sound added I get a mild effect that sometimes happens during a session then goes away. Sometimes I get no effect at all.

Rarely this has odd thing has to me happened three times lately. When I get in a zoned out totally relaxed state the flashing photos will appear to start slowing down and then speeding up. The droning sound will start to become different fluctuating in a way. It feels like some type of wave begins coursing through my body. It feels great, and I took this as me going into a deeper trance and so I focused more on the feeling.

It keeps keeps building getting better and better then boom all of a sudden I am having some very seizure like symptoms but am totally conscious of what is going on.

Every muscle in my body contracts and I straighten out becoming extremely stiff. I mean stiff as a board. My chest bows upward, my legs straighten out, arms depending where they are tighten either against my chest or at my sides. My head bows back and my jaw stiffens, but I am awake and can move slightly. Even force my mouth open. It feels very strange with no pain. Just numbness tingling all over my body. The first time this happened I was literally scared out of my wits. The second and third time I have been prepared for it, and ride it out fully awake and aware of what is going on and can even control it to a certain extent. The first time it happened I actually stopped it myself. The other two times I just let it kind of end on it's own. After these intense spasms subside everything is normal. I can get right up and walk, talk, think clearly, no dizziness or impaired vision, everything is fine. All I can figure is I overload my brain and it starts misfiring or something. Again I am totally awake and alert to what is happening and like I said have some control over it while it is taking place.

I am totally baffled. I do not have photosensitive epilepsy as far as I know. I can look at animated gifs, flashing lights, etc. without fear of this happening. Again I don't know what's going on. Any input would be appreciated.

Hi Tony,

You may be having audio seizures meaning that certain sounds are triggering the possible seizures. Also it may be photosensitive. What you need to do is see a neuro and have them do a special e.e.g. on you where they flash different color strobe lights one at a time to see if certain colors are triggering the seizure. Also take note if each time the seizure happens you are hearing different type of sounds such as high pitch or low pitch noises. I wish you the best of luck and May God Bless You!
