Default Lyrica, the compound from the devil's own kitchen

Now, Pardon me for stepping on toes and ruffling feathers. I know for some folks this compound helps a lot, and, hey, whatever works. But For anyone who may stumble on this thread in a search, I'm going to relate my experiences with lyrica, and ask a question.

I started taking it about a month ago, and it was literally nothing but side effects. My husband cannot touch me because I'm so overly sensitive I feel like electric zaps and burning pain wherever I was touched. I also began swelling to the point I could not bend my fingers, and one or two of them went numb. My feet also swelled to the point I couldn't feel or walk on them, thus stuffing me in my wheelchair for a longer time than i would like. I can still walk, though with difficulty. Now that I'm having to go off the lyrica, I was at I think 75mg 3x a day, that was my starting dose! I'm now having incredibly bad nausea, even worse hypersensitivity to touch, either being overly hot or cold all the time, and insomnia. All this because Walmart switched to AMN generics and that one didn't do anything for my seizures and in fact made them worse, I was on neurontin before. Is there anything I can do to manage the withdrawal symtpoms?

Hi starsong,

I was on Lyrica for awhile and it was terrible! The drug increased my seizures like crazy to the point where I had to be taken off the drug. You should call your Dr. and speak to your pharmacist about all the side effects you are having. I've found a pharmacist knows more about meds than any Drs. I've ever dealt with.

Another thing you can do is request a DNA test to be done when you see your Dr. by doing this they will be able to find the best drug that will work for you with the least side effects. I wish you the best of luck and May God Bless You!

Sue
