Question Have you ever experienced this?

Did you ever go through a time in your epilepsy when you could have sworn that you were psychic? I mean, you were 100% convinced. Something to do with dreams ~ I had one this afternoon, and I could not wake up, even though I knew that I was dreaming. That's where it gets really weird. My logical side is saying that makes no sense. My emotional side is saying that I seriously remember having this same dream 25-30 years ago and that proves that I am psychic after all! Do you remember ever going through this? My parents didn't believe me way back when (surprise! ), but now I'm starting to confuse myself by going round and round! Does this ring any bells for you? I'm not sure if it's seizure activity, delusions, or something else....

Hi shez,

I've never had this happen to me but when I saw my neurosurgeon a few yrs. ago I asked him what makes a person dream and he told me it was things that a person is thinking about but it's so deep into our mind we don't realize it or it can be related to something that happened during the day or something we saw on tv. After I've had a dream I will think about what happened the day before and see if anything connects to the dream I've had it sometimes it does. Here's wishing you well and May God Bless You!

Default Dream

I'm having a 3 day EEG done today to determine if I'm having simple partial seizures, but this sounds like something I experience more often than not. I wake up and the dream is just like dejavu and I swear I've had it more than once and even back into my childhood it seems. So I know the feeling, but of course don't know if it's just a dejavu feeling from dreaming and having a seizure during that time or if I really have had that dream before. But...I do know what you mean.

It is great to have you come and be with us. You will fine a great number of dear friends to listen when you are in need of ears. Please, just let us know how we can help you out. You will find out we are supportive and relaxing place.

The best thing for you to do is to go to an Epilepsy Center which are usually at University Hospitals and see an Epileptologist I've gotten the most help from them and had to take the least amount of meds. To find out what med to take as the Dr. to do a DNA test on you and from that they will be able to find what seizure med will work the best for you with the least side effects. Other things to do are, take vitamin B12 1000 mcg., Then also afford bright flashing lights, like in theaters just turn your head when it occurs.

Please keep us up to date on your situation. Again welcome, looking forward to seeing you around. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
