Happy To Help

Hi Tiger Lilly,
I want you to know I am more than happy to be there for you as a friend who understands how you feel. For many yrs. I asked myself the question: "Why do I have seizures?" As yrs. went by I found out why all of this happened as I look at my job that I've had for almost 22 yrs. I work as a Teacher Aide in special Ed. helping students with learning, emotional, and physical disabilities. I've found I can relate to many of the students because of the physical and emotional problems I had over the yrs. when I was in my teens. Here's wishing you well and I want you to know that I'm sure you have a special influence on someone you know. May God Bless You!

Sue

I actually have someone to turn too now when I start feeling down about things. Thanks again porkette

Wonderful SUE!

While I only had a very mild hearing loss, I actually pestered the very own founder of the Deaf Service Center (YES - the very Dr. Jerry Connors himself), to teach me sign language! LOL! (Only 24 dB hearing loss)

I wouldn't stop bugging him until he taught me! I learned little by little - "go away", "shut up", "stop bugging me", "close the door" "I'm busy", "come back later" "On Telephone now" - but I learned!

:D

Then he got the idea! He finally taught me and told me what book to get, so I could teach myself, and later on, I tutored and interpreted for some hearing impaired/deaf folks whenever I could or if there was a shortage. And it was the DSC that obtained me a TTY (now TDD).

It's strange considering that the car accident in 1988 made me deaf overnight and I already knew sign language and had a TTY/TDD ~ and it's no wonder why the Neurologist at the Epilepsy Center got a "little suspicious". The odds of such the like of this happening is extremely very high.

BUT CONGRATS TO YOU and may the BOTH of you be successful in your CAREERS!
