This morning as I was having a lie in I suddenly jolted awake. My neck, knees, back, and assorted places have been killing me all day. I have been diagnosed with epilepsy and among the parade of medication I take each day are anti-epileptics.
Can being stressed and upset set one off? It's been three years since my last one.

SDFencer,
![]() Sad to hear about your seizure today. You can have a seizure if you are stress out. Hope you begin to feel better. Hopefully you can let your doctor know of this event. Please keep us up to date on your condition. Again welcome, looking forward to seeing you around. My thoughts and prayers are with you. ![]() ![]()

Thanks. As you can see from my signature I've had loads of fun these past 7 years (effective this week) I just need to stop this. I fly to Milwaukee in 2 weeks to fence in a qualifier for wheelchair nationals in April.

Hi SDFencer,
Welcome to the forum! I'm sorry to hear that you may have had a seizure. Stress and lack of sleep are the 2 main things that can trigger a seizure for a person. I've had brain surgery done twice to reduce my seziures and I was doing great until a few yrs. later when my Dr. put me on the drug neurontin and that drug caused me to have wicked seizures and messed me up terrible so now I'm back to square one like I didn't even have the surgery. You might want to ask your Dr. to check for scar tissue from the surgery this is what happened to me. In the mean time ask the Dr. to do a DNA test on you and this will find what seizure med will work the best for you with the least side effect. All they have to do is get a little salvia or blood from you and match up the enzymes. Also try taking vitamin B12 1000 mcg. once a day this has really helped reduce my seizures. I wish you the best of luck and May God Bless You! Sue |

![]() I wish you well and a good neuro who knows what he/she is talking about. "I had brain surgery. What's your excuse?" I have that book too. I painted a big yellow happy face with a bandaid on the head on a T-shirt with that great saying. Once when I was in the hospital for that surgery my "room mate" was a young woman with an aneurysm ~shiver~ Listening to what was going on for her certainly reduced my self pity.

Thanks guys. I tend to hold the world's biggest pity parties. I was going to have the next one catered.
My first aneurysm was a fusiform type on the basilar artery. I was told initially it was the toughest kind of aneurysm in one of the hardest places to reach. Look them up. Whenn I went in for my follow up angiogram I was told, "you're one of the few patients whose aneurysm continued to grow after we put in stents." Then like the commercials," but wait there's more. You've grown a brand new one right above it." That's what led to the craniotomy and flow reversal. You're right, it is a good book. I have it as my license plate liner. "We Plan God laughs" is good as well.
