Default Epilepsy and ADD

My daughter (7) was just diagnosed with ADD (attention deficit disorder). We (and her teachers) werent surprised. I was just wondering if this is common. Is it more likely to have ADD if you also have epilepsy?

Hi concernedmom,

There are some cases when a person is ADD or ADHD that it will lead into epilepsy do to all the excitement and neurons firing up in a persons brain this has happened many times especially when kids are at the age of puberty. I work with a lot of students in special education and have seen this happen over the yrs. My advice to you is to cut your daughter back on carbs and starch foods, and put her on the ketogenic diet also have her start taking vitamin B12 once a day. I wish you and your daughter only the best of luck and May God Bless You Both!

Sue
