Question could this be a seizure???

I have moments where I do not know where I am. I know who I am, the people I am with and what is going on around me...but I do not recognize where I am at.

Usually this is a following of a 'stare'. After a few seconds to a minute I will come to realize where I am. It does not feel like an aura at all. It also is not near or in conjunction with a headache or migraine.

Could this be seizure related?? I have never heard of any kind of seizure being described like this. However I can't seem to relate it to anything else

Update: I talked to my PCM and she decided the appropriate step of addressing my photosensitivity and migraines and/or seizures is too see an Optimologist. I suppose any step is a step forward?

Hi Sweets,

This could possibly be an aura (simple partial) sz. it happens to me sometimes I will be sitting in my living room and then all of the sudden nothing looks familiar to me and I'm not sure where I'm at but during all of this time I'm conscious. Then it often leads into an absence(petit mal ) or
complex partial sz. for me. I hope all of this stops for you but you might want
to let your neuro know about it if you haven't yet and keep track of this in
a journal or calendar and note what time it happens. Here's wishing you only
the best of luck and May God Bless You!
