No she was not she said. When I asked her about the noise she said she was unsure if it was my teeth chomping together or lips smacking, as she was holding our daughter.

Just as a side note, she has caught me randomly walking around our yard for no reason I can remember. That has only happened a few times she said. She also says shes never seen me pulling at my clothing, but did say one time I staring in the bathroom mirror pulling hair out of my beard with a really scary look on my face almost like I was in a rage.

There seems to be no rhyme or reason for any of these that we can connect. Sometimes I remember them sometimes I dont. I usually know when one does happen though, because im extremely confused and get a pounding headache afterwords. The only ones I dont are the ones I zone out and just stare blankly. But those happen a lot, but Dr doesnt seem to think those are seizures, but just the pcs from my fall.

Sitke,

When I would go into a seizure I would be staring out into space. I could hear anyone asking questions, I would have an answer for them but unable to open my mouth. That would really make me upset. Yes I would get so sleepy, but I would nap about 15 minutes and feel I had been asleep for hours. One thing to avoid is bright blinking lights, wearing sunglasses help you out. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Thank you. Same thing happens as far as not being able to speak. Luckily it lasts only a minute or less usually when it happens.

kevbo,

At the ER after I'd had 2 huge incidents at home, the nurse was asking me something but I told her..."I can't speak" even though I just did, inside it felt like I couldn't.

During the spell in the waiting room, I got so confused, suddenly dropped the pen I was writing with, and started shouting so loud..."something wrong"..."something wrong" over and over, felt like a robot, and my left arm twitched, never done anything like that in my life!

Dr diagnosed....migraine!

Sometimes get a headache, sometimes don't, in Walmart last week here comes a massive headache and I felt confused, stared at one thing.

Do you just stay still when these things are happening?

I find I don't move, I stare at something til it all passes.

I usually am still when it happens. If nothing snaps me out if it, then im usually stuck like that for a minute or two.

Hi kevbo887,

If I may ask do you ever see colors in your eyes, or get a nervous feeling in your stomach or possibly smell odd odours right before the sz. if you do you are having a simple partial sz. also called an aura sz. and from what you have described to me it sounds like you are having complex partial sz. especially with wandering around and not remembering. This happens to me often I will start to have the simple partial sz. and it will lead into the complex partial sz. If by chance you get any of the feelings I mentioned to you before you go into a sz. tighten up all the muscles in your body and make your hands into tight fists, if you do this fast enough it will stop the sz. My neuro told me to do this back in the 1970's and it has stopped many complex partial and absence sz.
Here's wishing you and your family only the best and May God Bless All of You!

Its funny you say that about clenching up. Ive never personally done it, but if my wife is around she will grab me and bearhug me. One of her surgeons at work told her about this.

As for the smells, not always but sometimes. I will see flashes of "lightening" and want to puke and then it usually happens.

I will try your tip next time.

Hi Kevbo887,

If you are seeing flashing lights this is telling me you are having a simple partial (aura) sz. that is leading into possibly an absence or complex partial sz. This is been happening to me for over 40 yrs.
When you start to see the flashing lights that's the time to tighten your muscles and fist to see if it will stop the sz. Another thing you can do is put a cold washcloth of your face 3 times a day at the same time and anytime you start to feel a sz. start up this is called "Cold Water Therapy" The Cold water calms the neurons down in a persons brain when they start to fire up and have a sz. but when the cold washcloth is put on the face and back of the neck it will often stop the sz. I was in a medical study yrs. ago with this and it worked great. I wish you the best of luck and May God Bless You and Your Family.

Thank you.

Ive noticed since I started taking amitripytyline ive had issues when falling asleep. Ill be dozing off, and my fingers will start twitching, ill see weird light color patterns in my eyelids, and a strange like almost pins n needle type feeling in my head that travels up my spine and around my head.

Not sure if its a seizure though. Like today I tried to take a nap but couldnt. This happened twice when I was dozing off and woke me up.

Hi Kevbo887,

If this is happening when you are trying to go to bed or waking up it could be sleep disorder related and you may be having sz. do to lack of sleep. My advice to you as I mentioned before is to have a sleep study done with an e.e.g. at the same time by doing this the Dr. will be able to tell if you are having sz. in your sleep, and if you have sleep apnea or any other sleep disorder that can be causing the sz. The pins and needles type of feeling can sometimes happen to people who do have epilepsy. Also when a person has sz. before they go to sleep and when they wake up they are called myoclonic sz. I had them for awhile until I went on vimpat and once I got on that drug this type of sz. stopped. Here's wishing you only the best of luck and May God Bless You!
