Default getting tested

I'm 26 and fear I am having seizures. I have an MRI and 48 hour EEG coming up. I have very painful migraines and ear pain. I have involuntary moment of most of my limbs. Mostly my head. I'll swing my head back and forth. I have 'blank moments' when this happens and suffer from lost time. My hearing seems to be getting worse as well.

My nero thinks it has something to do with blood pressure. I'm 5 foot tall and 110 pounds. My blood pressure changes when I go from sitting to standing. He says that it can cause seizures.

I was also the victim of severe child abuse so I wonder if that would factor in.
Brain issues run in my family. 3 close members of my family had suffered from brain Aneurysms and swelling of the brain.

I'm supposed to be taking it easy until my test 'just in case'. I know stress isn't good when you have a brain issue.

anyone else been though anything like this?

Hi kittyloki,

Welcome to the forum! I've had all the testing you have had and my Dr. found bi lateral lesions on both the right and left temporal lobe which in turn caused my sz. (seizure). Abuse can often lead to epilepsy just from the trauma of the abuse. I work with kids who have been physically abused along with kids who have emotional or physical disabilities.
When I was a kid 10 yrs. old (51 now) I started having migraine headaches and then that lead to absence and complex partial sz. for me. My best advice to you is to start taking vitamin B12 1000 mcg. once a day and have your family Dr. refer you to see an Epileptologist at an Epilepsy Center these Drs. specialize in epilepsy and can find the problem causing the sz. along with giving you the least amount of meds.
I have 2 family member that have had aneursyms not to mention brain tumors but after having testing done I found out this is not what caused my sz. it was all from trauma.
Get a calendar and write down when you start and stop your monthly cycle and anytime you may have had a sz. along with anytime you get headaches. Write down what time it happened along with a description of the sz. by doing this the Dr. may see a pattern in your possible sz. and they could be happening do to hormones changing every month and also if there's a low pressure in the weather that will often cause headaches for me not to mention sz. I wish you the best of luck and May God Bless You!

My nero called me and has me on 500mg of b2 daily. We're going to see if that helps at all. I am a recovering anorexic so my diet is a little messed up.

It is so hot here. It was 100 degrees yesterday. I've been putting the water/juice right to me but it still doesn't feel like enough. My headaches are always worse days like this.

Hi kittyloki,

Here in upstate NY it was 98 degrees yesterday and in the high 80's today (July 2nd) I often get headaches when a low pressure in the weather is coming in and my Dr. told me that when that happens it's because the air is heavy which in turn can effect a womans hormones and cause both sz. and headaches. Just like you I was anorexic a few yrs. ago but that was do to the medication Depakene (Depakote) I was taking it for my sz. and it was working great but the drug can either make a person gain or lose weight and I lost 70 lbs. in 4 months even though I was eating 3 meals every day along with some snacks. If the B2 doesn't work for you just go to the store and buy some vitamin B12 it has done wonders for me reducing my sz. I wish you the best of luck and May God Bless You!
