Default Nervous

Today I see my neurologist and he has my results from my EEG. I am nervous because if it comes back normal he is going to take me off my medications, and I have already had two positive EEGs so I am nervous to go off my medications because I dont want to continue to have seizures. I know it is sort of confusing. My last seizure was last friend and I split my head open on my dresser and had to get 8 stitches, so I think I am scared that if he takes me off my meds that it will continue to get worse. Not sure what he is going to do......

Hi jazzbella,

If your Dr. wants to take you off of your meds you can tell the Dr. No because you know your body better than he/she does and what's best. Also if the Dr. wants to change your meds tell the Dr. to do a DNA test on you first this test will show what meds will help you the most with the least side effects. Here's wishing you only the best and May God Bless You!

So the doctor told me that he did not see any epileptic activity in my EEG, but he is concerned that I am having two types of seizures and he wants me to come into the hospital to have a video eeg and some other tests done. The only thing is that I have already had so much tests done and that doctor told me that I have both nonepileptic and epileptic seizures. The only reason why I am going to this doctor is because I moved. Even though he wants me to come to the hospital he has still decided that I should go off of the rest of my Keppra. I have to decide if I want to do all of the testing or not. I think since I am not having the seizures very often that I will wait and see what happens. I am really tired of going to doctors.

Hi jazzbella,

Take my word I understand very well how you feel about having all these tests done. I had to have a video e.e.g. done also but when I had mine they put the electrodes directly on my brain to pinpoint the areas of my brain that were triggering sz. If you can think of anything that triggers sz. for you like certain foods, bright flashing lights etc. let your Dr. know and they may use these things to help trigger sz. so you won't have to stay in the hospital so long. You will probably get bored so be sure to bring a book to read or even a deck or card to play so you don't get to bored. I did a lot of word search puzzles when I was having my test done.

As far as the keppra that's your personal decision to go off of it but I found that when I was on it the drug increased my sz. like crazy and I was on it for about 1 month and went off the drug.

I wish you the best of luck and May God Bless You!

Sue
