Default So Proud of my Michael

There are three things that a kid with Epilepsy can't do...sleep in a bunk bed, swim alone and ride a bike. Michael really took the not riding the bike to heart even though his seizures were controlled with the meds. He just never learned because he was so scared of having a seizure while riding.

Yesterday at my sister's house he was so frustrated because everybody was having so much fun on their bikes except for him. He was relegated to riding a scooter. Today when he came home we took off his training wheels on his bike and he started up on our little hill up the sidewalk. On his own he was going down the hill with his legs stuck out only putting them down if he went over to far. About the fifth time, I said, "put your feet on the pedals" and he did. I now have a bike riding kid! OMG I'm so proud of him I could but. For the longest time, we had to push him back up the hill. I told Efren we needed a Poma Lift...lolol. Finally he got enough speed to make it up the hill. He's the happiest ten year old in the world.

I swear the first time he came down pedaling, I did a big jump in the yard like the cheerleader I was 28 years ago and let out a shout too.
