Husband hasn't had one in a year and a half. And that one was my fault. I was extremely tired and missed a med dose then a couple of doses later I was late with his meds by an hour and he seized. Quick way to a guilt trip.

In a way though it worked out for the best because he had been seizure free for 2-3 years and everyone kind of relaxed. Then with this one we discovered just how low his seizure threshold is...that he can't miss even one dose. He is on Tegretol and Neurontin. The neurontin made a big difference because he was not getting total control on the Tegretol...seizures every 3-4 months. He also takes Ativan for several reasons and I have permission to give him an extra dose if I see "pre-seizure activity. His seizures are set off by light and so we keep a small towel near him and put it over his eyes if he seems to be in trouble...it works for him thankfully. If I move fast enough I have been able to stop a seizure in it's tracks (the doctors have a hard time believing this but it's happened many times and so I know it's true).
