Hi Chris,
I've had epilepsy for 43 yrs. I have absence (petit mal) complex partial and simple partial seizures. My advice to you is to have your neuro refer you to start seeing an Epileptologist which is a Dr. who specializes in epilepsy. These Drs. are often at University or really big hospitals. Over the yrs. I've seen many different neuro but nobody ever helped me like an Epileptologist did I was able to have brain surgery to reduce my seizures and I take a lot less med on top of that the Dr. found out what was causing me seizures.
One thing you should start doing is keeping track of your seizures. Get a calendar and write down what time your seizure happened and the type of seizure you had also write down when you start and stop your monthly cycle because often seizures happen do to hormonal change each month. By keeping track of your seizures the Dr. may see a pattern in your seizures. I often have them between the 20th-29th of each month.
You may want to start taking vitamin B12 once a day 1000 mcg. this has really reduced my seizures a lot. I've been on at least 10 or more AED's (sz. meds) and not a single one has stopped my seizures but the B12 has reduced them a lot. I wish you the best of luck and May God Bless You!

Sue
