Awhile ago there was a post about epilepsy in a soap, today I saw epilepsy in a sci-fi show. It wasn't all dumb with the guy going crazy. Even though it was sci-fi it got out the info that people with E don't just fall, shake & choke. They talked about it. Seems the man died....but. He was a DJ at a night club & had a sz. but the autopsy found that he had a VNS that shoulda stopped the sz. Later they found it didn't work good cuz someone turned up the music volume or something like that (remember, it was sci-fi). I'm not sure what all occured cuz I was doing other stuff too.

Thanks for sharing this lor...
I have heard so many scary stories concerning the VNS I would be afraid of getting one myself if needed... I think for every 1 good story I hear I hear 10 bad ones... |

Rocking, Contrary to what the 'bad guy' wanted you/everyone to think, epilepsy didn't cause his death. Thats one of the things the program sorta told 'EPILEPSY & SEIZURES DO NOT MEAN DEATH'. Regarding the VNS, they mentioned & showed that it should have been turned on soon as his sz started. (We know that means he should have used his magnet). I'll bet 99% of America doesn't know there's 'some sorta implant for brain stuff'. If they were watching, they know now. (P.S. I have a VNS & one of the ways to begin to tell what it is to ppl, I tell them it's sort of like a pacemaker for the brain).

Hi again (lol, As I write this I guess you are on too because I just wrote above then U did a few min. later & now I am again (after my shower!)).I answered your VNS post before. I got mine in 2000. I had to get a new battery (new VNS) 2 yrs ago.too. (But you know us w/E...not good memory, so I can't tell you alot about that 2nd time). But I do remember that 1st time, if you want to know more. Mine is set to go on every 5 min. My E isn't real bad so I don't use my magnet. It could be worse if not for VNS. But I do know it's Lamictal controlling my GM's. I have SP's & CP's too. You say don't feel sorry bout anything but I feel sorta bad cuz I am luckier than many on here. I read some really sad situations that I don't deal with. But come to think of it, I never know when I will have a CP, so I willingly don't drive. I don't want to maybe hurt someone.
