Default Nice to know you've been confirmed but ...

I know I hadn't been on the forums much, as I've
been pretty busy lately. With Level 4, being evaluated
and then comes the felon who flees from a Deputy
and plows into a Lady's car, and then flees again and
plows (and destroys) my car which injured my son and
I. Unfortunately, which caused me not only to loose a
precious Top Notch Epi I had only seen 1 month, but
also my Driver's License, and a heck a lot more.

With the neck and back injuries and no vehicle, how the
heck do they expect my son and I to receive treatment
from Physicians? It had been extremely difficult recovery
time, fortunately we used the monies to purchase bicycles
as a method of transportation (buses & taxi services here
are a joke and cost a fortune).

While I already knew I suffered from Tonic Clonic (Grand
Mal), Complex Partial, Absence (Petit Mal), Gelastic, and
Nocturnal - from Neurologists that had diagnosed it before.

Level 4 Epi changed the Complex Partial to Intractable
Complex Partial and added Electrographic Seizures to the
list. I knew about the electrographic seizures, it had been
discussed to me before by my Neuros, but it was sporadic.
But to have a Level 4 Epi to confirm it isn't good.

That's 2 Epileptologists that have disclosed electrographic
seizures on their documentations and it's always when I'm
asleep. But neither Epi makes note of any Nocturnal(?).

The Sleep Apenea had already been tested for several times
and had been ruled out in the past.

I'm somewhat sad having to loose a great Epi like this,
but communication is very difficult (because I'm deaf even
though I talk, but very dysarthric).

This wonderful Epi & his P.A. do not deny the fact I have
Epilepsy at all; I have no hard feelings whatsoever, but
I can understand at the same time why they had to let
me go, due to the Police Pursuit - as most likely they do
not want any involvement. However, there are no lawyers,
no lawsuits, no nothing, and the Felon still is in jail, and
most likely will be in jail for a long time (with all those
charges he's racked up).

But at the same time I have mixed feelings within, is it
fair for the patient? Things were going so well until that
day the Felon came along and screwed it all up.

With all honesty, there is no Epi better than HE is, he's
the best there is in the United States, and he's the one
who specializes in what I need the most.

I feel like I got the short end of the stick.

When my Primary Doctor assured me he was the best,
my hopes soared, because I was looking forward to being
normal or close to it. I wanted to get out of being homebound
and get to work, and stop bouncing around from job to job
without some type of provocation either seizure or migraine
or both - migralepsy. All of this just was a crushing blow
to me and now - I have really no one else to turn to,
except my Old Neuro which isn't going to be the same.

They already cut back on my med that Level 4 Epi had
set me up on that was working. And his Med Assistant
had instructed me that the Epi ordered me to stay on it.

It's going to be really frustrating for me.

Life is cruel!
I hate Epilepsy!
I hate being Deaf!

Default argh

(((Sharon)))
certainly seems nothing is simple in life; sorry to read about the many complications. not sure i understand why the new Epi dropped you unless it is simply to stay away from lawsuits. i had an Epi once who made me sign (something) that stated that he would see me only if i would wave my rights toward ever using him in a court of law for any reason. it might be worth checking with his office to see if they would see you under those guidelines?

i can only hope you and your son come out of this incident without any further complications.

all my best

Well, they nearly put me in the ER, and I couldn't
just walk out and go home (I was at the Hospital
via the outpatient), having done this zillions of times,
but this was the strangest one I've ever had.

All I'm hearing is being blocked back again (in the
Hospital). I arrived there out of sync, so one might
say it was the 'perfect' timing to have an EEG done.
Was still out of sync afterwards, having headache
and deep urge to sleep. They (the staff) were worried
and wanting me to sleep. I wasn't even sure where I
was except I wanted to go home. I plowed into a
saw palmetto (a type of a palm tree), and picked up
my prescription, and even the Pharmacy Tech who knew
me; wanted me to stay put, as she was saying my
speech was so slurred and I was staggering, but I
just wanted to go home. I nearly plowed into several
mailboxes.

(I don't drive anymore - I surrendered it voluntarily)

So confused and in a daze was I until my neighbor drove
by and saw me to tell me to hurry up and get home as
a bad thunderstorm was coming quickly. I nearly got hit
by a car because I forgot to look. Once I arrived home,
I showered and slept until about 8:30 or 9:30 PM! And
was still in a daze, my son could not understand a word
I was saying.

On my Caller ID - the Hospital Called, my PCP called, heck,
everyone called - all while I was asleep! While I did try
to cook, my son took over, and I was back in bed, asleep.
I slept all night, and all day just about.

My son told me I had to have had multiple seizures or at
least a bad one.

While I recuperated from it; I kind of wished I just went to
the ER which was right across the street. I still don't know
I how I got home. I didn't dare leave my house once I did.

My Neuro will be evaluating the whole thing Monday. (I think)

From there - I'm not sure what they're going to do.

But they know I have Epilepsy, Intractable Complex Partials,
Electrographic, Simple Partial, Absence, Tonic Clonic.

So what went on there - I don't have the result or report yet.

Default Update

My Neuro's Office called yesterday, they
have moved my appointment from Aug 31st
to this Friday, so this can't be good news
from my last Wed's EEG. I admit I'm a little
nervous.

Grats on the move-up in appointments (Oh, how I love those). Good luck on the results, too!

*Hugs*
