Weight Watchers ROCKS!!!!!!!!!! I actually endeavor to become a leader at some point. I started last year--August 18--and nearly 80 lbs have left my body for good. It's the best program in the world because it teaches you how to do what "naturally skinny" people do seemingly without thinking about it--appropriate portioning and how to know what you're eating, how to have your favorite foods in a lighter and healthier way, dealing with cravings without going overboard, and knowing when you're actually hungry vs. stressed out or just emotionally vulnerable, or even just thirsty. I can honestly say I can do--and will!--do this for the rest of my life and will never be obese again!!!!! I'm still far from my goal, but I have all the tools to get me there and keep me from ever looking the way I did before I discovered the way out of h3ll. Hi,
I lost 80 lbs. in 3-4 months by going on the ketogenic diet to control my sz. I also take diamox which is a diuetric to help reduce my sz. Do a lot of walking, drink a lot of fluids like ice tea or hot tea to help fill you up and you will drop the weight very quickly. Just be sure to cut back on carbs. and start eating cheese cake for a snack. It's helped control my sz. and reduce my weight greatly. Here's wishing you well and May God Bless You!

Hey, Sue.

80 lbs in 3-4 months?? OMG... Didn't that scare you?? That's awfully fast. A healthy loss is no more than about 1-2 lbs a week.

Carbs are not an issue for me. I eat whatever carbs I feel the need to, but I mostly need whole grains and lean protein to stabilize my blood sugar, which is getting low again after being normal for about 4-5 years. It's extremely important for me to: 1) eat small meals about 5-6 times a day, with plenty of lean protein; 2) drink a lot of water; 3) never skip a meal for any reason; 4) get proper sleep; 5) fill up on vegs; and 6) move around as much as possible, although at this point, with nasty plantar fasciitis in my right foot, walking is out. I want to get a bike or start swimming.

Hi Lizard,
I find it interesting how you can eat grain and proteins that's 2 things I have to cut back on because to much grain makes me gain weight and alzheimers runs in my family genes so I have been told to cut back on the proteins. Proteins also cause me to have sz.
To be honest it made me feel really good when I lost all the weight because I was overweight at the time and since I've lost the weight the most I've ever weighed is between 127 and 132 lbs.
Just like you mentioned I've learned to eat small meals and I've found it a big help to eat slowly because that way I fill up faster. Here's wishing you well and May God Bless You!

I must have the protein in order to stabilize my blood sugar. The high intake of sugar makes my glucose crash and can result in szs. The cool thing is that, now I know how to work my food portions and lose while I get my sugar under control. It's so cool!

Hi Lizard,
I'm glad that you are able to keep your surgar under control. I'm watching the starch foods and carbs. I take in because diabetes type 2 runs in my family and I don't want to end up with it. I ask myself if the reason why diabetes started with my father is because he was way overweight and he drank a lot of alcohol over the yrs. which I have heard can lead to diabetes.

Have you ever been dx'ed with hypoglycemia? I had symptoms all my life and nearly passed out waiting for lunch my senior year of high school. I was in govt class when my teacher asked what was wrong. When I told her I was getting sick because I had to eat, she asked if my blood sugar was low. All I knew was that, for years, I had known that if I ate, particularly protein, I felt better. I kept piling on weight after that, and I sought the advice of an endocrinologist who put me on a ridiculous 900-calorie diet of 2/3 carbs! I nearly died!!!!! From there, I simply gave up and ate what I damn well pleased, accepting that I'd probably die by 50 yo. (I'm 40 in two more months.)

Then I went to visit my mom last summer. A few months before, we had talked about all of this, and I told her that my dream "diet" would be one that taught me how to properly portion my food without a lot of hassle (i.e. constant measuring), cut the fat, increase the lean protein and fiber, and help me know what I was eating. She asked me to go to a WW meeting with her, and for breakfast before we left, her hubby (they married when I was 28, so he's not my "stepfather"--y'know??) made me my typical breakfast sandwich WW-style. 6 measley points, and God...it was so good!!!!!!!! I was then off an runnin' learning how to substitute in lower-calorie, higher-fiber, lower-fat ways to get my "fix" and not deprive myself. That was August 18 of last year, and nearly 80 lbs are GONE FOREVER. I have learned how to disperse my points through the day, eating about 5-6 times a day, and I'm losing while I eat what I want, too!! It's so cool!!

Smile MB--PF agony...and more questions

Thanks for the PF advice. I've been researching it over the past few weeks after I had to quit walking because my foot made me pay dearly. My biggest problem has been remembering to do the stretching. At least I finally have semi-decent shoes, which is helping a lot. I have also found that rubbing that new topical pain reliever, ActivOn, on it, really helps.

Do you do the stretching forever?? Does it ever actually heal completely? I really thought losing nearly 80 lbs would make it better, but it seems even worse than before I started WW. I'm wondering if I actually injured it. Maybe it's time to see the podiatrist??

Hypo crashes and some SPs can actually be very similar, so you're right to explore that possibility. Good luck, and please let me know.
