Question Does anyone know

Hey guys, My neurologist decided to put me on Zoloft for my Anxiety and I was wondering if anyone has been on that with their seizure meds. I've already gained weight from the seizure meds along with steroids for asthma, along with having hypothyroidism makes it really difficult for me to loose weight. So I researched Zoloft and alot of what I've found was about extreme weight gain. I'm really nervous about starting this medication because I'm already trying to loose weight and I don't need something else giving me more weight gain. If you guys have any info please tell me about it. God bless all of you,

Hi I can't say about zoloft as I could not take it it made me rather sick. But I will let you know that I take a low dose of lamictal for my mood swings and anxiety and it helps. Does not get ridof it 100% but sure reduces it. MY issue is more about a slow metabolism causing weight gain. However I know the lamictal has not contributed to any weight gain.
Good luck. Hope this might be of help to you.

Hi Tiger Lilly,
I would stay away from the zoloft because it can mess up the sz. med and the thyroid meds you're taking. The drugs will interact with each other and cause a mess.
My advice to you is to buy some vitamin B12 and take 1000 mcg. a day it has helped me greatly with anxiety and calming the nerves. Here's wishing you well and May God Bless You!

Sue

Thanks for the info cedar, I'll ask my epi doctor and see what he thinks about the lamictal. See I have hypothyroidism which already lowers my metabolism greatly and I don't want the zoloft to add to that when I'm trying to loose the weight I have already gained from the seizure meds and the anti depressent too. whew!! Thanks again and God Bless!!
