Unhappy Colds and Flu

Well, it's that time of year.

I have a chest cold, and feel crappy.

Do not mix OTC (over the counter) medication with you AED's unless you check with your doctor. I am only on Dilantin but the only thing I can tolerate is 1/2 dose of DayQuil 2x's a day.

The one thing I cannot tolerate is a clogged nose and I will use 12 hour nasel spray at bedtime. The rest must run it's course.

Yikes - I had forgotten that. Thank you for the reminder.
I've been on AEDs since 1990 but also a smoker who never got a cold. Since I quit smoking last Oct. I get colds. Go figure.

Best wishes for you --- I hope that cold runs its course very quickly.

(((((((((((((((((((((HUGS))))))))))))))))))))))). Everybody, please get a flu shot this year, too!! I found out my local CVS will hold a flu clinic on my b-day in 3 weeks! This would actually be the second time I will have received a flu shot on my b-day. Gotta love fall b-days!

Feel better...

Oh, I'm a hand washer anyway. If I go shopping the FIRST thing I do when I get home is wash my hands. Nasty grocery carts!

Thanks for the well wishes everyone. It's mainly a phlemy cough right now. One thing I do take that seems to knock down colds is Zinc. At the first sign, I take a couple of tablets and then it goes away, but we were at Disneyland this past weekend and the place was mobbed! Picking up some bug was to be expected.

Bath and Body works makes these awesome little hand wipes, I keep them in my purse and wipe everything with them before I touch it! Grocery carts, door handles, toilet handles, etc.

I'm addicted to using them, AND they smell awesome.

I wash my hands and disinfect the house as well as the classroom I work in. The flu, colds, and strep throat have already broken out in the school where I work. I've got a light cold but I'm able to take Aleve cold and sinus med with no problems. I will be getting my flu shot on Oct. 28th.
Be sure and drink a lot of hot fluids if you get sick with the flu or a cold it makes the virus clear out of your system much quicker. My Dr. told me to do this and it has worked great. Here's wishing you well and May God Bless You!

In our area and St. Louis we have a small grocery chain (don't laugh), Schnuck's. It's a rare delight as far as grocery shopping goes. Beats the heck out of the dreadful WalMart.
Anyhow - where was I? - Schnucks has a free dispenser of moist anti-bacteria towels near the exit doors. They suggest you wipe your hands, the cart handle and so on. Isn't that amazing?
