Default Stress+Seizures= Grrrrrrr!!

Hi everyone, Well I know stress can cause seizures and because of the situation with my mom I have had more seizures than I'd like too(petite and grand). It never seems to surprise me how my mom finds an answer for the reason why I had my seizures but she's always wrong. I think making up an answer that fits is because it makes her feel better. She used to be so awesome but over the past three or four years she's been so mean, and hurtful. I have tried many times to do what my therapist told me too do about her but, I can't get a word in because she's so controlling. I'm hoping and praying that I can be strong and get through this life without giving up.

On a good note, I'll be heading out of state to visit a friend of mine from high school. One week away from all the drama at home and I can't wait!!

I hope all of you are doing well and your all in my thoughts and prayers!

Hi Tiger Lilly,
I'm sorry to hear that you are having a hard time with your mom. I had a hard time with both of my parents while in my teens when they didn't want to accept me because of my epilepsy and they sent me to a bording school out of state from where I lived. I wish today that I never came home because yrs. later after my surgery they messed me up after getting a divorce and being married for almost 42 yrs. this caused me to have more sz. and it lead into grand mal sz. which never happened in my life so all the surgery I had was a waste of time and money now I have more sz. than before when I had surgery.
My best advice to you is to keep active and you might want to speak to a Pastor or Clergyman this is what helped me the most. Whatever you do don't follow in your moms footsteps. I proved to both of my parents that just because I have epilepsy that doesn't change a person that much and we are all put on this earth for a reason. If you don't live with your family cut off any contact unless it's an emergency and let them come to you. This is what my neurophsy. told me to do and it took 7 months before my mom even picked up the phone and called me but she did in the long run and now things are much better.
I will be praying for you and your family. I wish you only the best of luck and May God Bless You and Your Family!

Sue

Hello, it is so sad to hear of the situation you are with your mother. I was very lucky to have a loving mom that I had. At one time she would go around saying I didn't have epilepsy and that was because of the neuro I was seeing wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy back there told her on day I had a scare on my brain, to me just another name for epilepy. Since I am doinf good now I wish she was here to see my condition. I was talking last week with my sister, and I told her how I was doing she was crying and hoping mom was still alive.

I hope you have a great visit with your friend. Take care of yourself and as I always tell my kids, Remember who you are. You are in my thoughts and prayers are with you.

Darlene
