Though in clinical use for decades, a small, sweet-tasting compound is revealing a startling new face as a potential cure for epilepsy. 2-deoxy-glucose, or 2DG, has long been used in radio labeling, medical scanning and cancer imaging studies in humans. But now, researchers at the University of Wisconsin-Madison have found the substance also blocks the onset of epileptic seizures in laboratory rats.

Hi,
Thanks for posting the article I found it very interesting. I have been on the ketogenic diet for a long time and I have found it helps stop/reduce my sz. greatly. What I find interesting about the diet is I'm eating foods high in fats, but low in protein and carbohydrates. I have to eat cheesecake for a snack and foods high in fat but the diet has helped me to lose a lot of weight. Here's wishing you well and May God Bless You! Sue |
