During a simple partial seizure, the person remains conscious and aware of what is happening, however they cannot necessarily control their feelings/actions.

The effects of a simple partial seizure vary depending on the part of the brain affected.

Hi cazzie,
What you are discribing sounds like the possibility of a simple partial sz. When I have a sp sz. I get a nervousness in my stomach, smelll odd odour, see colors in my eyes, and sometimes hear one word repeated over and over again but it's a hallucination. During this time I'm conscious as you mentioned. The next time this possible happens try tightening all the muscles in your body and make your hands into tight fists by doing this it will stop the sz. for some people. I was taught to do this method back in the 1970's when I saw my neuro. it has stopped many sz. for me.
Just to let you know, yes I have read you posts. Here's wishing you well and May God Bless You!

Sue
