Default how do you know if meds are working?

Hi I had posted last week I think. My daughter has just been diagnosed with epilepsy and is on 100 mg of lamictal 2 times a day. She had an abnormal EEG showing absence and partial seizures. She has had one grand mal on July 25. How do you know if the meds are working? She has been very tired the last couple of days and has complained of not feeling well. Monday she went to bed at 5:30. She has also complained of a headache. She told me that when we were at church, she couldn't remember anything that happened after the priest started his sermon. She couldn't remember the gift bearers or anything. She was sitting with a friend and not with me. I am concerned that she is still having seizures but am not sure. She doesn't see the neurologist till the 25th. Thanks Cheryl
