Colleen at Team WebEase with Emory University (in Georgia);
and they are needing MORE people to participate:

They are quick to let you know if you qualify or not,
and PLUS - the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention
Epilepsy of Atlanta, GA is sponsoring this program.

Your PRIVACY is respected to the highest - and this is based on
a study; you do not have to participate if you do not so desire.

The CURRENT REQUIREMENTS ARE:
To participate in WebEase, you must:

1. Be 18 years of age or older
2. Understand and speak English
3. Have been diagnosed with epilepsy
4. Have been on at least one AED for more than 3 months
5. Have access to the internet
6. Be willing to participate

Does the research team know you posted this here in an effort to secure subjects for their study? If it does not meet with the guidelines set by the IRB, their entire study can be compromised! There are very specific guidelines regarding the methods used to obtain subjects for studies, and emory knows this very well. If a convenience method such as using this specific forum has made it to be which is a rather unusual manner of securing subjects has not been approved by the IRB and it goes forward without their approval, the entire study will suffer the consequences. The team will not be pleased at all. Using this site as a reservoir for research subjects is the same as using "vulnerable population" which goes against ICH and GCP guidelines. Tattoo

Emory / WebEase are fully aware of this - and this is not the
only place either ---> they know exactly where all I'm at, and
they know exactly where the others have posted elsewhere likewise.

THEY STILL NEED PEOPLE DESPERATELY!

To make it easier for everyone to understand this and how
easy it is:

• the questionnaire is very simple
• it is broken down into 3 simple stages (you will find that out in due time)
• it is not a difficult thing nor is it "time consuming or hard"
• everything is done on the internet and it does not interfere with anything to do with your rapport / relationship with your Physicians.
• they do not have anything to do with your medications or give/tell/instruct you on that issue either
• they do not give out any advisories but rather it is based upon solely you
• the structure itself is "all about you and how the epilepsy impacts you" in xxxx (won't disclose this part) way.
• there is nothing offensive or 'sexual' or such of that nature in that study at all - but rather a daily / day by day issue with living with epilepsy.

I hope this brings more clarification of its simplicity into light
and encourage others to participate once they realize that it
isn't "what they presume or assume" it to be.

Is it worth it? I say, "Absolutely" - for it is giving the CDC (Federal
Government) and Emory University - the generalized perspective
of (n=xxx) {with "n" meaning number and "x" meaning the population}
having this, having that, etc ...

Hope this all brings forth the clarification even a broader horizon to you.

Emory university black balled me after I had a seizure went into the post ictal state.They have dr's who puttake u on meds for a VEEG forget to put u back on them.I wouldn't trust them they don't employ the swiftess people.

I agree with Belinda... I was under the "care" of two neurologists at Emory for two years, and they were both dangerously incompetent. I wouldn't trust anything related to Emory's neurology department.

They could have killed me when I had my VEEG. There is no excuse for the degree of negligence I found at Emory. I wouldn't let them touch me ever again. They lke research too much to provide good care. Patients seems to be better suited as research subjects. Tattoo
