Default Question about other dx's

Hi all!
I am so curious to know how many others w/ Fibro have been dx'd w/ other diseases, syndromes and the like. It seems, from what I have read and researched, that many ppl w/ Fibro have various other problems as well.

My Fibro dx is the most recent but, throughout my life I have had the non-pleasure of being dx'd w/ a few other things...
1. Chronic Fatigue Immune Dysfunction Syndrome (age 17)
2. Chronic Depression (age 20)
3. Bipolar Disorder (age 27)
4. "Possible" MS (age 34)
5. Fibromyalgia and "possible" RSD in left leg(age 35)
(There are a few other things that have been thrown in there that I have rejected. )

Just curious as to how many others share some of these same dx's. TIA!

You are not alone in this issue.
I have:
Chronic Depression and Anxiety (2001)
Agoraphobia (2002)
Bipolar II (in the past 3 months)
Sciatica (since 1992)
Peripheral Neuropathy (2001)
Fibromyalgia (2000)
Chronic (not Pernicous) Anemia (the last year)
L4/L5 Disc Bulge (2006)
Chronic Fatigue.....could be from FM or my meds
Unfortunately it seems that people who have FM have other issues as well.

Hi again Krazeedayz
I also have bouts of depression that i cant just shake off.
I have also been told i have bipolar tendencies.Whatever that means because
i am not on any meds!
The rest of my ailments i recently put back under my signature.
So it's really not that uncommon.I also think there is some sort of link
to all this.Just not sure what yet!

Hey, Robyn. Yeah, my fibro is a secondary condition. They still haven't diagnosed the primary yet. But it's funny how one thing can lead to another, and fibro always seems to be somewhere in the mix.

Exclamation ditto

ditto to what the others are saying... seems to go hand in hand... but be very careful that something serious does not end up being diagnosed as a fibro thing ok???? I had thyroid cancer in 2005 and if I did not keep going to the doc they may not have found it in time....

I had some fibro fog going on..so sorry!
Arrow is so right!!!
I have been brushed off since getting my dx.
Dont let anyone do that to you.
If you feel as if something more is going on.
Push until you get an answer.
Dont let the docs just put it in the "fibro file"

Confused Anyone else getting sick???

Funny you should all mention something else being attributed to Fibro.
I had a really bad flare back in September. It got to the point where I could hardly walk because the muscles in both legs were so tight. I had a host of other sx going on too.
Well, my neurologist sent me to the hospital for the weekend to have an emergency MRI and my 2nd LP. (Both came back negative, although I do have one lesion in the occipital lobe of my brain that the docs have yet to figure out.)
They put me on 3 days of IVSM and then a week later I went on an oral taper of Prednisone. Thankfully, the roids did the rick and my sx abated.
But, ever since that oral taper of steroids I have been nauseous every single day. So much so that I have actually vomited 3 times. (the last time being this morning)
I brought this up to both my neuro and my GP. neither seems to be very concerned. Although, I know it's not normal to vomit for no apparent reason!

Does anyone else w/ Fibro have this going on? The nausea and vomiting, I mean?

Hopefully someone will come along soon and help you
out there..

Do you also have diarreha?
What ever it is that's going on.
Make sure you drink pleanty of fliuds
So you dont dehydrate...I am happy to hear that your problems with your
legs has eased up though!
Take care and feel better soon!

Kellie, I don't have the diarrhea. IBS yes but, the pain meds have taken care of that! LOL!
Don't think this is a virus. No fever or other sx to go along w/ it. Just the unusual daily nausea and occasional vomiting. It boggles my mind.

KrazeeDayz -- I also have fibro as a secondary dx, added to chronic fatigue syndrome/chronic EBV infection?,plus Hashimoto's and a few other autoimmune "phenomena". Anyway, forgive me for getting personal, but is it possible you could be pregnant? In any event, feel better!
