I have found that a lot of doctors don't really believe in fibromyalgia and they seem to think I was making it up, but the book "Beat Sugar Addiction Now!" is written by a doctor and he knows so much about it. I feel like I learned a lot about my own body just by reading the section on fibromyalgia, and it made me annoyed that no one had told me this before. I started reading the book because I thought it was a diet book and would maybe help me lose weight, and if I wasn't carrying around so much weight maybe I would feel better overall and be less achy. But it's actually a whole part on fibromyalgia is in it and I learned a lot about my hypothalamus that I never knew before. The information is good and smart science but not too hard to understand. You need to find help if you have what I have-so much pain it hurts to pull my shirt over my head or bend down to tie my shoes. I had to start wearing ugly crocs just because they were easier to put on and more comfortable, and that is not who I wanted to be-a fat person in unstylish shoes who has trouble getting in and out of the car. I feel like if I can find a doctor who will help me and I can do what it says in this book, I will get a lot better. It is written very convincingly and you can tell he knows what he's talking about. Plus he has a list to help you find doctors that treat fibromyalgia and I am ready to get treated and stop feeling like my nerves are exposed every time I move. Here's the website for Dr. Jacob Teitelbaum: http://endfatigue.com/

He is very expensive and a bit too unconventional for me. I live in the same town as him and it would be highly convenient, but I drive a bit of a distance see someone else who I really like. - Dr. Russell R. Rothenberg. - he is a wonderful rheumatologist that specializes in fibromyalgia.

Hi Godzilla!
There's a lot of misinformation about FMS out there, for sure! Isn't it great to find some useful info and to also feel "validated?" I read some of his info. I often use a supplement he suggests. I usually find a cheaper, high quality version than the one he tends to sell on his sites. I really like using the D-Ribose and I had learned about it from his site. I was dxed with CFIDS and FMS in the early '80's by researchers in each of these conditions. They were doing a joint study (together). These "syndromes" have progressed to a more confusing mess in my case. My picture has always been very neurological and I had participated in the CFS/CFiDS research for many years. For D-Ribose, I use Jarrow's. Love it. Gives me muscle strength/muscle energy. Helps with pain and other sensory sx. in muscles, esp in lower legs. I hope you find help and feel better soon! ~DejaVu |

I'm very interested in the benefits derived from Ribose. Do you use the powder form or capsule? What dosage? How long did it take to make a difference in your strength? I read that it causes some nausea. Did you have any? If so, did it eventually disappear? Sorry for all these questions. Thanks for your help.

The right medical doctor that is a specialist with CFS/fibro and supplements is wonderful. Having great blood testing is important. To see if the hormones are OK, Vit. D3, B12, seratonin, and other things.
My supplements have been helpful for my CFS and I do love D-Ribose. I use Source Naturals powder in OJ. My dose is given to me by my doctor. A knowledgable doctor can help with all supplements and dosages. I had no nausea with D Ribose. Google it, it is a sugar. I had nausea from Alpha Lipoic Acid for two days. I just cut the dose down and worked back up. |
