not sure which forum is for me, have been on ms forum lately. i have been seing different dr's since last year trying to figure out what is wrong with me. started out with pinched ulnar nerve (surgery corrected that in dec.2010), then tingling in legs, arms and face. now legs and arms get very stiff with deep ache. hard to move around or even dress myself. i have had to give up doing my crafts since last year, unable to work or help much around house or my body gets too stiff to move and muscles ache so bad they hurt. had mri's of neck, shoulders and brain and the only thing they can say is degenerative changes with slight bulging at disc ("shouldn't cause your symptoms").orthopedic passed me to neurologist who said my problem wasn't in his realm of practice, next sent to neurosurgeon who fixed pinched ulnar nerve and now can't wait to dismiss me from her care. next stop another neurologist. no one so far can tell me why my muscles are so stiff/deep ache or why i wake up every day with stiff and tingling legs and arms and tingling face. very frustrated not being able to take care of my children or even me very well. have to limit my activities or i hurt too much, life is getting pretty sucky lately.

Go back to your primary doctor and have her/him send you to a pain doctor.
Someone who will take the time to listen to what is going on. Try and help with the pain. It sounds like you need something to take some of the stiffness and pain away.

I would also ask if the primary would prescribe Physical Therapy so that you
can go and see if they can help by using either a ultrasound type machine
things or tens machine. After trying to get your muscles and things to lighten
up. I went to a physcial therapist for help. I also have a massage therapist
and I love to go to her.

But you need someone to see if its fibromyalgia too.

I totally understand what your going through and it is ver fustrating.I had a spinal tap back in June and ever since then I've had nerve pain all over my body I even getting burning pain in my eyes and tounge I am soooo upset at the doctor who did this to me He assured me everything would be ok LIAR anyway I intend on getting revenge on him with my lawyer I just need to run a few more tests to prove my pain is related to the spinal tap.I had to quit my job of thirteen years which I adored,school and my internship I too have a teenager that needs me I'm tired of being in pain I have a boyfriend he has been supportive but doesnt really understand what I'm going through if that makes sense.If u ever need support you have a friend anytime u want to talk.

i do understand. i have four children (2yrs, 8yrs, 19yrs and 21yrs old), three live with my husband and I. i haven't been able to work since oct last year because my arms just ached so bad i couldn't do my job as a nurse. i had my primary put me out on disability. i had ulnar surgery to my left arm in december. i tried to go back to work for a four hour shift and after only an hour i was taking something for pain. by the end of four hours my legs, arms were so stiff and aching i could barely walk out of there. my very low back hurt. my husband had to change my clothes when i got home and all he could say was it's been awhile your muscles aren't used to it. you just have to keep trying. i say my primary and i know she sees something wrong, she gets a look on her face. i went with my husband to his apt. and at the end she asked me to sit in the chair. so i did, then she tells me to get out of the chair. i started to use my hands on my legs to get up like usual and she tells me, not with my hands. couldn't do it. talk about feeling helpless. my soon to be ex-neurosurgeon is scheduling a consult with a local neurologist, pt starts this week for my arms and back(unfortunately its not for legs too), mri for my lumbar region and after my insurance ok's it cortisone shots. i don't want to go to neurosurgeons, i usually see her intern and when i do see her she doesn't spend more than a minute or two with me and heads for the door. i left word with my primary i want to do whatever needs to be done, to be done local. i am scared that i won't know whats wrong. i have a copy of my brain mri and i don't have a clue. i guess i have to wait for local neurologist to assess me and previous tests. hate waiting. i dont know much about fibromyalgia. can it stiffen up legs, arms within minutes of going out in 17 degree weather? does it cause a deep ache in muscles? how about trouble with speaking(like trying to say change her- change cher). it seems to be happening when i type also. really strange.
