We've been hit hard with record breaking temps. Day before yesterday, it hit 110 which was an all time high for this area. Yesterday was just 107 and today is only supposed to reach 105. I guess that is a cold snap.

Racetracks and horse shows? Where are you located? Kentucky? Yeah, I hear its pretty brutal up North. I do feel bad for everybody, especially those with no power. I couldn't do it. I'd either have to find a motel, or live in my car. I do have A/C, but its never cold enough for me. The fans run non stop, but I still sweat. This is the first year the fibro and the heat have hit me this hard. Or maybe its the cancer. Or the diabetes. Or all of it. Who knows? And it will be like this till Thanksgiving, or Christmas. But it sure beats snow.

Does anyone have a theory on why heat makes us worse? I actually don't "feel" the heat -- I guess my temp sensitivity is gone -- but I do flare in the summers... How common is that pattern?

Hi there folks...
I cannot get ENOUGH HEAT.... when I get cold I can never get warm again. Not by "usual" means anyway. I live in Scotland where (luckily / unluckily??) we dont get temps like you guys do but we do have PLENTY rain BUT we do also have lovely green countryside.... ![]() When I get cold I have to put my electric blanket on HIGH as I possibly can and I could leave it on at that temperature ALL night!! Unforunately for me, my husband is not TOOO keen on that idea and he makes me switch it for a hot water bottle after a certain time... I dont think he is very keen on the electric blanket going up in smoke while we all lie in our beds.... ![]() I dont think I could ever be TOO hot and i sometimes wish I lived in a nice roasting hot country where i would never be cold again. It looks like Fibrobloodymyalgia wins whether we are too hot or too cold ![]() wishing you all well kerry |

Interesting, I don't cope well in extremes of temperature in either direction, hence the depths of winter and the warmest parts of summer are when I suffer most. If my year could be a constant cycle of Spring - Autumn - Spring - Autumn I'd be a very happy bunny.
