Default I am new to fibro/CFS

I am 54, was just diagnosed with Fibro/CFS about a week ago. My doctor put me on Cymbolta, but I am still having a lot of pain....everywhere.

Welcome Lilith!
How long have you been on it and how much did the doc prescribe? It doesn't work right away and it may take time for your doc to get you up to the pain relieving amount. It may take up to a month for it to get into your system properly as well. That is the way SNRIs work as it is with any antidepressant. You only have been on it for a short time, give it time. I was on Cymbalta back when it first came on the market and it didn't work for me.
As you said you are new....unfortunately you will find that there aren't any quick fixes with FM or CFS. But we are here to help as much as we can.
Again welcome!

Thank you for the warm welcome, I guess I was looking for the quick fix. Been very active all of my years as a nurse. But this has taken a lot from me. I am glad to have found this group.... It is good to be with people who understand.
Thanks again!

Hi Altheia and welcome! I agree w/Wendy... it takes a while for the meds to take hold.. I have not been on Cymbalta, so cannot speak from experience w/that particula med, but they generally don't take full effect right away...

I have had FM for a few yrs (at least officially DX'd for a few) but know now that I have had it longer. Yesterday it was rainy and I could not function. Today the sun is shining and altho I have pain, it's a different pain...

take care and give yourself some time to get used to your DX.
