Lilith,

I am not a pain sufferer, but work with many who are. I have attached an research article from the American Psychological Association. It may be of interest to you.

Are you seeing a doctor? You need to get on a track wth a good doctor who can help you. A good Rheumatologist and a GP make wonders. Also a pain mangement doc helps as well too.
I hope you are feeling better today.

Smile Hi Lilith!

Boy, is that the question of the day. And the week, the month... For years now my pain has controlled my sleeping patterns soooo much. Sometimes I go for weeks with only the barest amount of sleep, and I turn into a zombie. Other times I sleep 12-14 hours at a stretch making up for it, which is almost as bad.

For the first few years I felt guilty all the time, either because I couldn't do anything due to exhaustion, or for not waking up until two in the afternoon, when the day was already half gone. It still makes me feel bad, and does nothing to lessen the pain. Psychologically, when I do get to sleep I tend to hold on to it as tightly as I can. I fight against waking up, because in my sleeping dreams everything is normal again. I do fun things with my family and friends, and my wife loves me still.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that loss of sleep due to pain is a problem that has to be dealt with on a person-by-person basis. You have to find out a system that works for you, or at least lessens the problem. I hope you do find that system as soon as you possibly can, and start getting some really deep sleep. Because it's during that sleep that our body does most to heal itself. So not sleeping can lead to a vicious, self-reinforcing cycle.

I will send you my prayers and the best wishes I have that you figure this all out soon!

Hi Lilith, Sorry to here about your pain. If it helps at all, I am in the same boat with you. I will pray (row) for a while and then you can and I'll rest. Rashelle

Heart

Sometime in the last couple of months, since PNM shut off my electricity with no warning and wouldn't give me a day to transfer money to pay them, I happened to look at an old medical certificate that I have...

and I saw that my doctor wrote that I have fibromyalgia.

I didn't see that before. I have a bit of brain damage from long years of low B12 and living in hydrogen sulfide... plus a fall where I hit my head on my brick floor.

After I saw that I began to think that was why she gave me the prescription for a B12 shot a day for a year.

I had thought she'd done her maths wrong, because she was a little not entirely reliable. For instance, her partner doctor thought my tetanus was an appendicitis attack... despite the fact I'd had it out...

So here's the thing, it's when I actually began using that amount of B12 that I had a huge reduction in my peripheral neuropathy pain... I mean very significant.

I have a web page on my site with an article about a doctor in England... it's pretty interesting:
http://www.health-boundaries-bite.co...MPRESSIVE.html

take a look.

But just to give you an idea of how much B12 that is, it's like taking 6 of the 5mg Methylcobalamin a day... the under your tongue lozenges.
