Yes I am new here.I am alone.I have a son 17yrs old autistic and a daughter 4yrs old... full of life.I have a husband 18 yrs now.
I love them and they love me.Yet I am alone. My thoughts, pain and frustration of Fibromyalgia is taking its toll on me! Spinal arthritis also pains me,herniated disks...nerve compression etc.... I could go on.Yet it would not prove a point.Except to convey my misery. Yrs of frustration and knowing "something" was not right .I plugged along pushing myself.I had to be responsible.High Expectations were expected. I played the part as long as I could. Then I just gave into "me"! "ME" the real ME..who I am...how I feel. Accepting my situation,my limitations without guilt. After almost 4yrs of neuros, neurosurgeons orthopedic drs.... 2 yrs evaluated at a M.S clinic... More back drs.... Finally a Rheumy...intelligent to see the obivious.Fibro and arthritis of the spine..knees etc... I am not alone...at least I hope. Izzy |

((Izzy)) you are not alone!!! It's a frustraing problem. I too have the same problems as you with the spine.
There is lots of good information in this forum for your fibro so please don't feel alone, and jump in any time. My family accepted my fibro right away and is very compassionate about it, so I am lucky that way. I hope you are too. Read up on some of the posts in here. Lots of good info.

Hi Izzy!
No, you're definitely not alone. Welcome to the fibromyalgia board -- nice meeting you and hope to get to know you better. I've had fibro for 10 years and MS for 16. Too much pain!!!! Take care.

Welcome to the forum Izzy.
Having this forum is what helped me to stop feeling like I was so alone. Before I started posting on forums I used to get quite depressed from feeling so lonely, feeling so alone, being in pain so much, and feeling like I was the only person in the world who felt that way. Then several years ago I joined an online forum, and I stopped feeling so alone. Just knowing that there are other people that I can reach out to is so helpful for me. I'm glad you found the forums Take care, Liz PS - just so you know, there are forums here for Autism and Spinal Disorders if you wanted/needed support for those areas in addition to support for your fibromyalgia.

I too have ruptured discs, arthritis of the spine, nerve damage, Fibro, Arthrits, Bursitis, Tendinits, Rotator cuff/R shoulder impingement syndrome and more. The pain play ring round the rosie. I found several things that help and here is my suggestions: 1) Pain a Trate (ointment that stinks, but stops pain in minutes) 2) Bath Therapy (you soak in this) 3) Play music that you like that takes you back to a happier place in time. Motown music does this for me. 4) Take a nap daily. Rest when you are tired no matter what needs to be done. A nap can prevent (sometimes) a longer crash and burn time. 5) Find a good Chiropractor if you can afford this or a massage therapist if you can afford one. 6) Find something to laugh about. Laughter often lifts depression, makes us happier and happy thoughts will increase pain endocrines in the body. 7) Pray and meditate. I keep Chicken Soup for the Soul, Guideposts and upbeat Happy Books that I can read around when I can't sleep. Puzzles and other pursuits will keep the brain active when the body can't be. Good luck. |
