Default Need for MORE Potassium??

I've had more fatigue lately and thinking my potassium has dropped. I eat 1/2 avocado daily and foods with some potassium but don't eat lbs of food so thinking POT is dropping. I don't eat bananas and believe they are oversold anyway for a little potassium in this high carb fruit.

I had been taking 99mg daily for a while and dropped off but will start again....and low sodium V8 is high in potassium, I just had a glass with a little water diluted in.

When I get labs done, once a year, I like to see levels, come in at the upper end vs low and mid range,,,,potassium is so undersold.

Comments????

Time to post more in here on the NEED for potassium and especially those dealing with CFS/ME and fatigue in general.

The RDA for adults is 4700mg, and if one gets 1000mg in foods they are fortunate. I've been taking 200mg a few times thru the day for a few years now now and talking to my friend, she takes 200mg 5 times thru the day, once during middle of night. The rest hopefully she gets in foods, that is highly not happening. One would have to eat platefuls of rich potassium foods and that is not possible. She's been doing her routine for about 10 yrs...and gets labs checked once a year and we can't count totally on labs, and I've thought this forever.

So if one takes 1000mg thru the day in supplements, they need to get about 3700mg in foods and I don't think that happens either.

So be aware of this and look further into it.

The form we both take is Potassium Glucconate and she also says those with CFS/ME have more issues with potassium getting into their bodies due to intercelluar issues with potassium...goes to blood but not to cells.

Do research to read on this issue.

Want to add if a person can get high potassium foods daily, that is fortunate for them. I don't and so need to supplement to feel better Energy. And another person is mentioning Coconut Water and or Juice, which is high in potassium also. As we age, preparing meals becomes more and more of a challenge.
