Hi,
It may be worth anyone with CFS or FM looking into whether they are infected with the bacteria Chlamydia Pneumoniae (Cpn) (no relation to the STD). My partner has been bedridden with M.E/CFS for the past 2 years and last year she was diagnosed with cpn infection. Many people who have M.E/CFS, have been found to also have this infection. This bacteria, once it enters a cell, steals the mitrochrondria functioning from that cell, for its own use. That is one of the reasons for any fatigue – the cells do not have enough energy to do the job they are supposed to do. The first time a link was found between CFS and cpn, was found by a Doctor Charles Stratton of Vanderbilt University. Both he and UK microbiologist formed an antibiotic protocol. Stratton has been able to get funding for further research at his lab at Vanderbilt. He is looking at all the chronic illnesses where he is finding a link with cpn. Thanks, Mark Hall For the first time in 2 years, we have hope. Last edited by Chemar; 03-24-2008 at 04:37 PM. Reason: admin edit as per guidelines |
