I found a new doc in Boston I am so far very happy with. He runs a fibromyalgia clinic.
He started me on Lyrica a couple of weeks ago. I was very skeptical about taking it, since I get bad reactions from so many meds. He warned me that it makes some people feel weird. I didn't think it would do much for the pain, either. Well, the first day the pain in my neck went away totally! It has been debilitating pain that has been with me for about 30 years. I have 3 fused cervical vertebrae from birth. I also have a collapsed disk in my lower back, and that is about 95% gone. There are a couple more bulging disks in there. All that contributed to my fibro. I don't know if it means that the pain was nerve pain. Lyrica is really a drug for nerve pain. At any rate, I feel better than I have for years. It even takes the edge off my irritability. I'm only taking one a day...supposed to be taking 3. This is working fine, though. ![]() If anyone is interested in the doc or the hospital, I'll be glad to provide the info. |
