Hi Judy! Thanks for asking.
The acupuncture has actually increased my pain 3-fold. I can't walk or stand for very long without immense pain in my left leg and hip. Even making the bed causes me pain now.
So my advice is be careful about this procedure. As for the needles hurting, believe it or not they hurt more coming out than going in. The needles are so thin that you feel the pressure of the person putting in the needle more than anything. But beyond that, I think that it is a person to person experience.

Default Lyrica

Judy,

I'm afraid that with all the pain my fibro gives me, I seldom stop in here to say "hello" - sorry. I promise I will be more active in the future. (Unless you and the others want to tell me to keep away!)

I caught your question on Lyrica and I found it to be an excellent med. I have peripheral neuropathy in my feet so nothing takes away my pain. But, it is expensive and also makes you gain weight - I put on 15 lbs. and am having a heck of a time taking it off.

So, now I'm an overweight chronic pain person but happier than before I took the Lyrica.

Later everyone,
Nancy-H

Hi, I don't post a lot, usually when I have a question or 2 but...I do lurk and read the posts..

I live close to toronto ON, and it has been rainy a lot here as well, so the pain and everything else had been bad for me as well.

But, here I am so I thought I would drop by and say HI!

Lisa

Fiberowendy, I had acupuncture for years. It helped me with an infection, depression, somewhat with pain (like pt), but it took awhile to work.
What you went through doesn't sound good. Maybe your body just has a different reaction to it. Are you going back?

Doody...I am the same way... I love to sit inside and watch the rain and snow through the windows, especially when there's a nice warm fire going in the fireplace!

Judy...I was on Lyrica for a while. It did seem to help me some with a few of my fibro symptoms, but it only seemed to make my fibro-fog worse. I've heard both good and bad reports from other people, so you might just have to try it before you'll know how it works for you.

Lisa...Hi! I hope you decide to post more often! The more the merrier, right?

I hope that all of you are doing well this weekend. If this darn weather would just settle down a bit it wouldn't be so bad...
