I went to a rheumatologist to get diagnosed. He was took a detailed history and did a physical exam. My FP doc said that rheumatologists are the best bet because they need to rule out lots of other stuff before they diagnose you.

Welcome brcjames! Glad to have you with us. I agree, my Dr's ruled out many other illness's/syndromes while searching for a DX. I also had an FM confirmation from more than one Dr, but since I have so many other ''things'' going on, FM is just a part of my daily life.

Hope you take a look around the board and make yourself at home!! Everyone here is very friendly and helpful.

Hi Linda,

I also have both Fibromyalgia and RSD and I have a lot of the exact symptoms that you are suffering from also unfortunately!!

I spoke to my Pain Management Doctor and he said that because of the RSD, he couldn't officialy diagnose me with RSD but he thought it was very likely that I suffered from it as I had a lot of the symptoms and both illnesses often go hand-in-hand unfortunately! I have been treated for both Fibro and the RSD for a few months but from what I have been told, a lot of the treatments for Fibro are also for RSD and no two people are the same unfortunately!

I hope you get some much-needed answers real soon and am keeping you in my thoughts and prayers. If you have any questions, please let me know because I DO understand what you're going through!!

Love,
Alison.
